Find Me

Alafair Burke

★★★★☆

I had a hunch when I started this book and wondered all the way through if my gut was right (I'm not going to tell you what that hunch was or if I was right or wrong, you'll have to read it for yourself to find out) ALSO - apparently this is part of a series but this one was written as a stand-alone so totally up to you if you want to dive into the story more!

Lead Like It Matters

★★★★☆

"Faith in a big God will lead you to take some big risks"

I don't think you have to be a church leader to benefit from this book. While it's most certainly geared towards those who lead faith communities it also has some incredible insight into what it looks like to a be a faith filled leader no matter your context.

The Game

Scott Kershaw

★★☆☆☆

I walked by this book countless times on the shelves of Indigo and kept picking it up and putting it down and finally decided it was time to give it a read. I had high hopes (and high expectations) which unfortunately weren't met. Not every book can be the best thing ever right?

Super compelling idea for a book, 5 strangers invited to play "The Game" in order to save a loved one that was taken away from them. I think it came together too quickly at the end and there were so many opportunities for game development that could have enhanced the story.

The Break Down

B. A. Paris

★★★★★

Hands down one of the BEST mysteries I've read so far this year (dare I say ever). Brilliant writing, so many subtleties that made the story complex, and intricate and I was smiling as I read the end because it was all coming together so incredibly. Highly recommend.

Malibu Rising

Taylor Jenkins Reid

★★★★★

I have loved everything I've read by Taylor Jenkins Reid this year. Absolute brilliance in how she created a literary universe with 4 stories and characters who intertwine in all her books. This one was another one of my favourites this year.
